National Council of Self-Insures 2016 Conference

Our team will be headed to San Antonio for the National Council of Self-Insurers 2016 Annual meeting May 22-25. This year’s conference will be held at the Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel in downtown San Antonio Texas. The four day event will feature many exciting open round-table discussions and case study presentations.

One of the most highly anticipated presentations for this year will be, “What Can you learn from the Pros on Medical Treatment and Return to Work.” Led by a panel of some of the top sports risk managers and workers’ compensation professionals in the industry: Therese Baxter, Workers’ Compensation and Liability Manager for the Seattle Mariners & Seattle Seahawks; Daniel Romo, SVP of The Fairly Group; and Dino Stiris, Risk Manager for the Chicago Cubs & Wrigley. The panel will provide insight into handling Workers’ Compensation claims and Return to Work initiatives in the professional sports arena.

Founded in 1946, The National Council of Self-Insurers is an organization of corporate, state association and professional members. Representing approximately 3500 employers, membership is comprised of some of the largest self-insured corporations nationwide, including many fortune 500 organizations. Review Med will host the opening Keynote breakfast at the 24th Annual National Workers Compensation and Disability Conference, Wednesday November 11th 7:00-8:30 Am. The IAIABC Welcomes One of Our Own

We are excited to announce that our very own Sheryl Minyard has accepted an invitation to join the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions(IAIABC) Medical Issues Committee for the April 10, 2014-2015 IAIABC Annual Convention term. This prestigious organization is celebrating its 100th Anniversary as a not-for-profit organization leading the way with the administration of workers’ compensation systems throughout the United States.

The IAIABC is well-known for their professional and dynamic members from all areas of workers’ compensation, and Review Med is proud to be a contributing member. Efficiency and Effectiveness of work comp systems throughout the world are vital, and the IAIABC helps achieve this by being a complete resource for research, policies, best practices, standards, and information.

One of the most valued traits of the IAIACA is how well they facilitate communication to build awareness and develop solutions. The members increase outreach and help identify the most current issues facing workers’ compensation through forums and nearly 30 committees.

The Medical Issues Committee is chaired by Lisa Wichterman of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and current projects include:

  • Regulatory and legislative updates
  • Treatment guidelines and new medical treatments for injured workers
  • Medical cost-containment strategies

Review Med Expands to Tennessee

Dallas, TX, October 21, 2013 – Review Med, a Dallas,TX-based provider of managed care services named Caitlin Mary Bascue as its new Account Manager for the Nashville, Tennessee Division.  Bascue joined Review Med in 2010.

“Caitlin has worked in the Dallas area for 2 years and we are excited about the opportunity to expand to Tennessee with an experienced account manager. Caitlin has an intrinsic understanding of the ever-changing world of managed care and how our clients must quickly adapt,” said Shelly Bordonaro, president of Review Med.

Bascue’s specific responsibilities include care of our existing clients and developing new accounts, building and maintaining strong, long standing customer relationships, facilitating consistent, open communication with our customers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and coordinating referrals for all services. Bascue also manages Social Media for Review Med by coordinating its Facebook and Twitter marketing campaigns.

Bascue works closely with Review Med’s Sales and Business Development executives to collaboratively develop new business territories and expand Review Meds customer base. Bascue offers experience in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients to encouraging new and repeat business opportunities through Review Med’s overall medical and health containment operations.

Bascue is a graduate from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business in Waco, Texas.

New Website

Review Med, a Dallas provider of managed care services announced today that they are launching the redesign of their web site.  The new website is up and running after a 3 month long project in concert with Interactive Exposures team led by Larry Hankins.

Sheryl Minyard appointed to IAIABC Committe

Review Med, a Dallas provider of managed care services announced today that Sheryl Minyard was appointed to the IAIABC’s Medical Issues and Regulation Committee. This is a critical committee within the IAIABC’s infrastructure and Sheryl will be a great asset to the committee and the IAIABC’s membership. Christine Baker, IAIABC’s president noted the importance of the committee members to the overall mission of the organization.  Sheryl has served in other capacities over the years with IAIABC.  In 2007-2009 she was the official liaison between the IAIABC and the national billing committee’s NUCC and NUBC.  Sheryl is the Director of the Utilization Management and Peer Review department at Review Med.
